Entercom Contest Kills Young Woman

Just in case you haven’t already seen this via the Drudge Report, check out this Los Angeles TV news report from YouTube.
Didn’t anyone at Entercom (WRKO’s corporate owner) realize that a listener contest of this nature would have deadly results? Is anyone still watching over Entercom’s stations, or have they checked out for good?

I think they’ve checked out, sadly.
Slightly off topic: I fear that, as part of the “new” WRKO, Entercom will also throw the Sunday night show “Pundit Review” under the bus–a shame, considering the excellence of the show and the potential of the hosts. “Pundit Review” is the type of show that WRKO should promote and champion–but the conservative/libertarian bent of the show (i.e., pro-Iraq War, anti-Gov. Patrick) is a poor fit with the new, PC management. If only WRKO was programmed by someone who cared about its heritage and history…

Duh, what a ridiculous idea! It’s not exactly a medical mystery that this woman died. Yet Entercom mgt. says they are “shocked” that she could possibly have died from the contest.
In fact, I remember reading in the last year or so how someone else died this way - it might have been a frat house stunt. So this means of death is not unheard of.
I hope Entercom is ready for a whopper lawsuit, because I’m sure it’s on the way.
