Finne-felon Grubbing For Ca$h
by Brian Maloney, August 5th, 2007 at 10:24am
Buried in an obscure corner of Saturday’s Herald, this deserves to be a major story:
Tom foolery
Convicted felon Tom Finneran, who copped an obstruction- of- justice plea in federal court earlier this year in return for no prison time, is still grubbing for his $30,000-a-year state pension.
The former House speaker, who now hosts a radio talk show on the AM band, has his next “internal review hearing” at the State Retirement Board on Aug. 21. The case will then go before the full board for the kind of hearing Tommy Taxes always loathed - an open hearing.
Potential talk-show topic next week: Should corrupt politicians who commit felonies in office get a kiss in the mail?
Beyond mere run- of- the- mill greed, what is convicted felon Tommy Tune Out up to?
Is he trying to catch up to Howie Carr’s now-public mega-salary?
Or could it be something else: a realization that the talk show gig clearly isn’t working out, requiring a financial backup plan?
So far, not a word on this from the Globe. Since similar attempts by other disgraced officials have become big stories, why has this one been buried?
Will you help spread the word on this one?

I’d say Tommy Taxes is just another greedy politician.

Mistah Speakah is just trying to get what he has earned with his many years of public service and dedication and hard… bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha, I knew I could not get that out without cracking up.
Maybe he’s trying to fund his granddaughter’s cosmetology school fund?

When the going gets tough…WRKO’s site has once again removed its messageboards (after one or two too many negative comments about the Felon
and the Howie situation, I’d think)
