Finne-felon Could Be Disbarred!
by Brian Maloney, September 20th, 2007 at 09:46am
According to the Boston Herald, Tom Finneran is facing a disciplinary hearing that could lead to his disbarment:
WRKO (680 AM) morning talk host and convicted felon Tom Finneran will be facing a tougher audience on Oct. 15, when he is scheduled to appear before the state Board of Bar Overseers for a disciplinary hearing.
The former House Speaker’s license to practice law was temporarily suspended on Jan. 23, several days after he pleaded guilty in federal court to obstruction of justice for his role in a controversial 2001 legislative redistricting plan.
More than one person has noted here that Finneran doesn’t always come across as terribly bright on the air. As a Beacon Hill scammer, he’s a genius, but how do you figure he got through law school?
As a convicted felon, it’s hard to believe he could retain his ability to practice law, but in this good ‘ol boy state, having friends in the right places might save him.

We can only hope not only does he lose his licence to practice law, but that his pension is invalidated as well.

I’m not a big Finneran fan, but I don’t see a reason for him or anyone else the be subject to a scorched earth policy of retribution. He’s done his time. Time to move on.

Oh so wrong LOL ( and that isn’t a laugh. As soon as he got behind the microphone, he continued in his position as a public figure and as such is subject to scrutiny. He hasn’t done ANY time , even though he should have. He placed himself in the position of jeopordizing his law licence through his own stupididy and needs to pay the price.
I terms of scortched earth, my preference would be to ignore him as he’s begging for quarters out of the Whirlpool box he’s living inafter the abject failure of his radio show, loss of pension et al. THATS scortched earth.

He probably went to Suffolk Law or New England School of Law.
You know, some cake law school that anyone could get into.

I predict that he will not be disbarred, AND he will regain his pension.
That’s the way things work around these parts.

Maybe some of the “nothing to see here” Entercom insiders can be character witnesses at Finneran’s hearing.

I can’t listen to Tommy Taxes. He has been horrible from day one. Him kissing up to conservatives is sad, given his back ground. Did he believe any of the garbage he pushed through the legislature or was he just looking out for number one? ‘RKO is one of my pre-sets, but in the morning it is a no go.
Same with Dennis and Callahan, particularly Callahan, and their commercial breaks last forever. And some of the discusting news stories they tell given their holier than thou attitude…
Too many Koolaide dispensers on the radio.
I am often stuck with NPR or music until 10am.
And I usually enjoy listening to Howie.

Bish, This guy is such a bad act and his cocky attitudes is just obnoxious. when he talked about all the ex-speakers re-union at Fenway I thought of all the people you kinow who won’t ever get to go to Fenway and he has carte blanche. Can I make one suggestion Bish? Can we put some wheels on the Whirlpool carton and push it to Providence and get another mt box (Amana)to make an addition for Tommy’s “peer”, Buddy Cianci?? Like a duplex!!

Uncle Tommy says that he will not be disbarred. The fix is in, wink-wink.
And he’ll get his pension back. Wink-wink (Uncle Tommy gave out a lot of jobs back in the day, he-he-he).
All you saps who play it straight are S-A-D sad.

I believe Tommy Too Tuff is a an Eagle but I don’t know how many times this Eagle shat. I suppose it is the public domain someplace.

As Speaker of the House, Tommy tried to make himself out to look like some sort of statesman. When he decided to talk to the press, he pretended he was the next incarnation of Benjamin D’Israeli or something. I think he fooled some people. Still, his radio show has exposed him as just another townie politician (albiet a more than decent wheeler/dealer). Still, his intellect is more suited for “a time” at Florian Hall than some sort of policy institute. Granted, as Speaker, Tommy should have been more in touch with his townie side. Nonetheless, it is kind of funny that he pretended he was some Professor of the Classics.

Staffer, pretending is the key word for this guy. Thought while checking out the infrastructure, maybe he can take O’Holes slot?? Not much change in talent there.

LOL, Now you are talking talent! One problem–Too much starch and fat in the dinner and besides my Mom always told me “never to eat anything beige”. Can I send the $8.95 to the “Save the Steer Foundation”?
17. LOL | September 21st, 2007 at 12:29 pm
Send it to townies.org.
Hehehehehehe.
