Entercom Sinks Again We Were Too Nice

Michele McPhee Rumor Confirmed

by Brian Maloney, December 4th, 2007 at 12:43pm

… And it’s the worst-case scenario for all parties: the Herald is losing its star reporter and WTKK is gaining an entirely unsuitable talk show host.

McPhee’s most recent run at WTKK was wretched and frankly unlistenable. The fact that Greater Media management couldn’t recognize what was clear to nearly everyone else doesn’t bode well for the station’s future.

I want to root for WTKK, they are much nicer folks than their competitors, but it’s difficult with these boneheaded moves. Ratings and revenue have no hope of improving until an entirely new approach is tried. But they clearly aren’t listening.

As for McPhee, I’ve never seen anyone make a more ill-advised career move in my life. She’s about to learn a tough lesson and I feel sorry for her.

I’m not sure who is giving her advice or whether she is a true lone wolf, but McPhee will soon realize she’s given herself a major demotion.

Mich, don’t listen to these morons. You go, girl. And show some more decollete in your photos… everyone will swoon and listen every day!

Hugh, with friends like you, who needs enemies?

I’m torn - I like the TKK picture of her on the website that shows ger gams, but they took away the pic that shows her cleavage and I like local talk but her voice grates but she’s conservative and Savage is a nutcase but there aren’t many local options and Dan Rea hasn’t really gotten his feet wet but who can replace Paul Sullivan? I can see TKK’s point going syndicated in the AM and adding more local programming, oh my head ……

Bish, I can make this really easy for you: did you regularly listen during her recent midmorning run? Or was it just too grating?

I deliberately listened to her mid-morning show once. I agree with Brian.

Was Jerry Williams’ voice mellifluous? Gene Burns? Howie Carr’s? David Brudnoy’s? Of course not — they were annoying to some, too.

So, why do you all hold women to different standards than these men? Stop complaining about her voice so much.

Mich is tough. She’s smart. She’s also drop-dead gorgeous (though that is beside the point on radio…).

    I think she will succeed.

Hugh, quit trying to be heterosexual. WE KNOW what you are…go back to your Howie “real doll”

Hugh, are you trying to undermine her? Don’t fill her head with what you know isn’t true. She might believe it.

Couldn’t stand to listen then, and won’t listen now.

See if you can get back in over there.

Michele McPhee is abysmal. When she comes on I must change the channel. It’s almost impossible to listen to her for even a short time.
