Oliphant Gets LA Tryout
by Brian Maloney, January 14th, 2008 at 05:58pm
Here’s something I didn’t see coming: Globie-For-Life Thomas Oliphant has been trying out as a talk host on Clear Channel’s long-troubled libtalk station KTLK / Los Angeles. This news is via industry trade publication All Access, so no direct link is available.

Oliphant was a regular guest on the now- kaput Al Franken Show and if he’s anywhere near as dry and dull, it’ll make NPR sound exciting.
Apparently, he’s recovered from health problems that sidelined him a few years ago.

I don’t think he will do quite as well as McPhee does.

Nice hair. Nice bow-tie. Another in a long list of media whores who collect a paycheck in one slice of the industry and feel that it gives then a de facto right to try it in another. Yes, we’re referring to you, Howie. And you, Butch Stearns. And you, Gerry Callahan. And John Dennis. And Ryan. And Shaughnessy. And MacMullan. And Lobel. And Johnson. And Felger. Geez…what an inbred industry.
