Learning From Past Mistakes? Voting In The Big Brother State

Together We Can Get Tricked Again

by Brian Maloney, February 5th, 2008 at 07:41pm

Let me get this straight: the same people who were fooled by Deval Patrick can’t wait to support Barack Obama, his clone?

Does the white guilt really run that deep?

Why does it always have to be about “white guilt”? Like every other candidate doesn’t promise pie in the sky and free lollipops for all. Obama is an accomplished young man who has alot to offer a country that is tired. Tired of government by punditocracy. Tired of unnecessary wars. Tired of corporations suckling at the government teat. Gov. Patrick is dealing with a Legislature that knows all the tricks in the book and a Speaker who is Governor in everything but name. You complain about the corruption in the state and then want to pin everything on the guy who just got here. I’m black and tonight I voted for someone black. Someone who is not only black, but from my generation with a similar background who understands what time it is. If Barack’s success is a product of white guilt, what explains the failure of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to secure the nomination in previous contests?

    “Andrew”
You’re from a similar background as Obama? So your mother is from an affluent white family and your white grandparents helped raise you in Hawaii? And your father is a Kenyan who flew the coop when you were 2?

    What a small world.

Not exactly. But, I do have white grandparents and share the same educational background and values. My father and mother were together for 40 years. They raised me. I’m hoping that you’re trying to be funny. By the way, there are a lot more middle-class and affluent blacks than you think, Rocky. I just think there are more people like me who are ready for something different, yet comfortable. I’m not going to use the “change” word because it’s been co-opted so much, it’s become meaningless. But, I will say it’s interesting to watch the right-wing radio folks scramble to convince the base to get behind Romney. As much as he wants to portray himself as an outsider, he would maintain the status quo. The corporations would continue to loot this country. Iran would be in our sights militarily and financially. And, all Mitt has to do is sign off on all of it. Mitt is the establishment. McCain has the ability to actually work with the other side and get things done. This farce also illustrates how willing the right is to push aside a true hero, a POW, to keep the money train going. Watch and see. There have been whispers, but soon we’ll see Mitt’s surrogates begin to run ads comparing McCain’s time in the Hanoi Hilton to a vacation in the Canyon Ranch Spa. That’s how despicable they are. Rush, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Michelle Malkin and the rest are deplorable human beings. Worse yet, horrible Americans. Mark my words.

Together We Can Change We Believe In

While white guilt plays a major part in electing HUSSEIN and also played a huge part in getting DEVil elected, there’s another element, it’s the blind leading the blind,,,,people are suckers for the “together we can” crap, and now with HUSSEIN we’ve got the “yes we can” crap, so my question is, what has DEVil done for us and what is HUSSEIN going to do for us? The answer is simple, NOTHING,,,why? because both of them ran on empty campaigns, neither one can and won’t answer a direct question, both are inexperienced, both are clueless, both depended on politically ignorant people to get them elected. Unfortunately it worked here in MA and we all know what we got in return, and if for some reason HUSSEIN gets elected, we all know DEVil will be leaving to join his blind brother in some cabinet capacity leaving this state in the hands of another incompetent, but I digress…..the point is, people need to educate themselves in political matters rather than blindly voting based on gender or race.

The fact that McCain was a POW, does NOT give him the right to run this country, nor does it mean he’s capable. So many people are caught up in the wrong attitude, let’s vote for McCain he deserves to be president because he was a POW, let’s vote for HUSSEIN cuz he’s black and Oprah says he’s cool and therefore, he deserves to be president, let’s vote for Hillary because she’s a woman, she cried and her husband cheated on her, therefore, she deserves to be president. Like I said in an earlier post, people are politically ignorant and are voting for all the wrong reasons.

No one is saying that McCain’s status as a POW gives him the right to run the country. What I am saying is the whispering campaign and the loud and visible talk radio/blogger campaign against him is ridiculous. Also, I’m not politically ignorant or blind just because I voted for someone who looks like me. That’s happenstance. I have alot in common with him and a similar take on the issues. That’s why I voted for him. Would it be fair for me to posit that all the white people who voted for Romney or McCain only did so because they were white? If that were true, I would have voted for Sharpton or Jackson. I made a choice based on my beliefs. If you want to believe that’s identity politics, so be it. But, that tells me you’re stuck in the past. Until recently, Obama had no traction among blacks. There is something appealing about the man that can’t be denied.

If Obama gets nominated(he won’t) he’ll be beat by McCain. The “Bradley Effect” will be renamed the “The Obama Effect”. There’s NO WAY he gets nominated. And in any event, like Hillary,he’s a CFR puppet anyhow…Zbig is working his strings.

As far as the election of the sitting governor, the people of MA were given a choice. Whether or not they chose wisely is for history to decide. But, “white guilt” didn’t catapult Gov. Patrick into the corner office. A horrible campaign based on fear from his opponent did.
