Crappy Ratings Have Some Entercommies Chuckling Senator’s Husband Caught In Sting

Deep CBS Cuts Stun Broadcasters

by Brian Maloney, April 2nd, 2008 at 09:27am

Though layoffs at broadcast outlets have become routine in recent times, yesterday’s slash-and-burn at CBS has stunned the industry.

Today we learn that high-profile anchors and reporters were hit as well, including WBZ sportsgrump Bob Lobel. In Chicago, WBBM-TV sent its best-known faces packing.

Can’t imagine the environment at WBZ today after 30 people were escorted out of the building. Is local TV news as doomed as land-based radio and print newspapers?

Oh, so that’s all it was Joy?

I thought it was because after donning that red Rudolph nose (that was a fake nose wasn’t it?), he got amorous with the reindeer.

    My bad!

    Joy,

I remember Wornick making the accusation. I believe Lobel’s response was to deny it, but to suggest that her undies were big enough to fit him. Ain’t love grand??

I highly recommend the Jerry Williams’ book to you all (rather, the book about Jerry).

Great insight into the development of the industry.

It sounds like a tough career path, kind of like software or hardware engineering where you are always only as good as your latest work.

That’s not for me. I’m happy in marketing, where I don’t have to meet any expectations and there are no metrics to measure my performance (or lack thereof)!
