‘Camelot’ Is Nothing More Than A Distant Boomer Memory

Today’s Herald carries speculation that Ted K’s seat could remain “in Camelot”, meaning handed to another Kennedy on a silver platter.
The two names mentioned so far are disturbing to say the least: Patches Kennedy of Rhode Island and Hugo’s oilman Joe Kennedy. Talk about personal baggage!
Aside from the ridiculous boomer notion that “Camelot” still exists, handing the seat to another Kennedy will reinforce negative sentiments toward the Bay State that commonly exist in the other 49 (or 56, if you’re Barack Obama).
Appointing a Kennedy sends the message that a US Senate seat is “owned” by the family, similar to that of a hereditary peer in the House of Lords.
They aren’t royals and Camelot is nothing more than a distant boomer memory.
I feel sorry for our founding fathers, that was a lot of hard work for nothing.
