Drunk With Power

With an increasingly brazen attitude, Beacon Hill’s corruptocrats continue to astound even the most jaded observers.
In recent days, I think the topper has been the effort by Senate President Therese Murray (D-Plymouth) to protect perverted Senator James Marzilli (D-Arlington), who has been harassing and allegedly groping women whenever the opportunity might arise.
So far, Senator Bob Hedlund’s (R-Weymouth) demand that Murray strip Marzilli (shown above) of a chairmanship (and the higher compensation that comes with it) has been rebuffed.
Hedlund is also a talk show host at WATD-FM in Marshfield.
WRKO’s Howie Carr believes Marzilli may be plotting to beef up his public sector pension. Is Murray’s stance aimed at protecting his income? Is this a reward for past loyalty to the cause?
What bothers me the most is the way Murray is lionized by the local media, despite her longtime reputation as a perpetually angry and all-around unpleasant individual.
On WBZ radio yesterday, for example, she was referred to during the newscast as “Terry Murray”, as though she’s a dear friend of the local hackery. In local SE Mass publications, she’s nearly known as Therese Murray.
That’s not to say that what passes for a newspaper on the South Shore and Cape is willing to criticize her. You’d be hard pressed to find a single example.
Her rejection of Hedlund’s sensible call for Marzilli’s removal should make it clear she’s just another corrupt Beacon Hill insider, drunk with power in an era of one-party rule.

I initially disagreed with this screen, Bri. But then I reread your post, and I am seeing it your way now. Very persuasive.
Although Marzilli’s positions are very close to mine (and my husband is a old friend of his) I have to recognize that, had he been a Repub, he would be gone already. Hypocrites come in all political persuasions, I guess. Still, I will donate to his defense fund as I like the guy.
JSYK, my ol’ friend: still waiting for you to “expose” my IP address to the world… c’mon, that should be trivial for a computer science hacker like you.

If this perv had been a republican he would have been tried, convicted, and crucified in the media. Then he would have dropped off the radar because he would have been forced to resign. But his democratic buddies will take care of him and he’ll probably walk away with a beautiful pension. Remember, He’s a very sick man. Just ask his lawyer. Keep voting them back in folks. Keep voting them back in.

I’ve always wondered how “Terri” Murray got into the position she’s in. Her lack of talent and foresight has never ceased to amaze me.
As someone once described Nancy Pelosi, “She’s just a housewife who got lucky”.

Terri Murray is good people, Blucat. GOOD people. She appreciates me and my GLBT friends.
Lastly, I can see JSYK has no brains and even less guts. He has hidden his head in the sand and emerged with (yet another) handle once I called him out on his false promise to expose my IP address. Pathetic, just like every other bully I ever met.

“Perpetually angry and all-around unpleasant individuals”…funny, that sounds like SO MANY Massachusetts Liberals! They are sooo fake and their true nature mirrors the erroneous way they wrongly try to depict Republicans/Conservatives (guilty much?). They say they are so steadfast in their intolerance of woman’s rights yet protect a big, old, perv like “Free Willy Marzilli”. They have NO interest in passing “Jessica’s Law” and love child rapists more than the child victims (yeah, that means you Fagan!). This whole state is sick!
If Dems and Liberals were so bloody great, this state would be a Utopia. Haw-haw…it’s far from one! So much for the Dems/Liberals being the better!
