Huh? EXCLUSIVE: SF Libtalker Calls For Death Of Joe The Plumber

Breaking: Obama-Supporting Boston Phoenix Wants Mormons Killed

by Brian Maloney, November 2nd, 2008 at 12:57pm

In another reminder of the extreme nature of Barack Obama’s supporters, Boston Phoenix writer / sicko Chris Faraone calls for the death of Mormons in California:

En Route To Obama Nation

I meet a nice woman in the airport who’s flying to California for her lesbian sister’s shotgun wedding. With Proposition 8 looming on the left coast, gay couples are rushing to tie knots. My new friend tells me that thousands of Mormons have been bussed into Cali to pass out hateful literature at busy intersections. Let’s hope at least a dozen of them get bulldozed.

On the Jet Blue cruise to Chicago I watch cable pundits holler, shout, and bicker. They’re past pathetic; if I ever become a hollow nonsense-slinging vulture please print this dispatch and deliver it to my country club. Clicking from “Morning” Joe Scarborough and tight Tucker Carlson to the Fox News frauds, I vindicate the decision to kill my television six months ago.

I’ll avoid canonizing Studs Terkel all week long. Not because he doesn’t warrant it – few Americans deserve the superlatives that writers have already pinned on him – but because I’m sure that every conscious observer on a pilgrimage to Chicago is already praising him plenty in their coverage. Still, it’s important to note at least one lesson that young journalists like myself can learn from Terkel’s legacy.

In his excellent obituary yesterday, Boston Globe Staff Writer Mark Feeney remembered how smooth Studs was with subjects. “He was the least intimidating of interviewers, with a famously warm and empathetic manner,” Feeney wrote. “As Chicago newspaper columnist Mike Royko said, ‘I could never imagine someone replying ‘no comment’ to Studs.’”

I‚Äôm an a–hole in real life, but as a writer I know that subjects are useless unless you kiss their egos. Studs did that naturally, whereas I have to pretend. Nonetheless, I‚Äôm proud to know better than pundits who berate their guests. Too many reporters ‚Äì particularly physically attractive, morally reprehensible young women vying to become high profile right wing hack bitches ‚Äì think that‚Äôs how it‚Äôs done. They learned from the likes of Michelle Malkin and Bill O‚ÄôReilly. I learned from dudes like Studs Terkel.

Gee, I don’t remember
Studs calling for the execution of Mormons, was he really your mentor?

Get ready for the Marxist/Police state IF ZerObama wins…all the brown shirts have been waiting and it’ll just be a matter of letting them loose.

I can at least say that I was NEVER swayed by ZerObama…not one day, not one second.

    VOTE YES! On ONE

    VOTE NO! On TWO

I live here in NH on the Mass. border, so I will hop down in the morning to vote just as you suggest and then I’ll do it again later in the afternoon. The town I’m going to is complete MAGIC for this! However, I won’t vote for the guy who the L.A. Times said was the ‘Magic Negro.’ What a racist newspaper the L.A. Times is! No wonder they’re whacking people left and right!

What else should we expect from a publication best known for running ads for prostitution?

Wait. Woa. Hold on just a minute.

Let’s just remember the party that will soon control both houses of Congress and the Oval Office and (soon to be) the Supreme Court is the Democratic party. My party.

Reparations. Marriage equality. Tax equity. Sensible immigration policies. Univeral healthcare. Labor-friendly goverment. Interpreting the Constitution as an evolving document. We will have it all!!! Thank you, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Gonzales, Rice, et. al.

I wonder if he realizes that JetBlue is owned by a Mormon.

I love that you can call for a couple hundred mormons to be bulldozed, but I bet if anybody said that about gays, they would taken out and stoned.

Funny how intolerant these people are. Why is it perfectly ok to say “Kill Joe the Plumber”, or hang Sarah Palin, or “Bulldose Mormons”. Sounds like promoting “Hate” crimes to me. Should not the FBI or Police be checking these people out for their inciting Hate Crimes???

Drew, my tribe is a protected class. So, yes, they would be taken to the woodshed for saying anything remotely anti-gay. However, as we learned when Governor Flip-flop ran for the R nomination, Mormons are not a protected class. Your own right-wing zealots seem to delight into calling the Mormon faith into question. Remember Gov. Huckle-berry? Sigh… I look forward to the day where all of America is religion-free!

This truly is the year that journalism died. This creep has to write bizarre crap to keep his column space from being taken over by a new ad for an escort service. I am amused by the Boston TV stations, like GBH and Fox, who use these crap slingers from the Phoenix as commentators as though they have a normal perspective on issues. The stations must make them take off their shoes before they walk on the set.

Larry, it’s worse than that. Michael Graham was on Beat the Press a while back and had the temerity to disagree with Dan Kennedy/Callie Crossley/etc. No more Graham on GBH! When Emily Rooney looks like a relative conservative, the playing field is indeed slanted.
