<description>Wow. How funny is it that a completely edited letter to the editor of the Herald ended up generating so much negativity. If the Boston Herald had the BALLS to publish my letter in full, you'd have seen that it had nothing to do with censorship of the radio, and was more of a rant on the kind and content of language being used in political discourse on the air such that it became no longer viable to allow my children to listen to it.</description>

<description>I worked at ATEX during the 1980's. One of our customers was La Prensa in Nicuagua. Ortega's wife was on the E-Board. When the Sandanistas took over, she told the others that the paper would be closing. When they asked who would speak in opposition to the government, she told them that; "now that the right people are in charge, there won't be any."

<description>Why are "progressives" so afraid of dissenting opinions? Think they're sufficiently honest to admit when they veer into fascist tactics?

<description>I find it hilarious that Liberals in Washington want to reimpose the Fairness Doctrine because, somehow, their cause has been negatively impacted by conservative talk radio.

I'm sorry, but didn't America just elect the most liberal President in history? And, if memory serves me correctly, wasn't the most conservative President of modern times, Ronald Reagan, elected in 1980 when the Fairness Doctrine was still in effect? (The Fairness Doctrine remained in effect until 1987)

This idea of reinstituting the Fairness Doctrine is pointless. John McCain, a lukewarm conservative in the best of times, won the Republican nomination and Barack Obama has won election while talk radio is at it's zenith. Someone tell me who exactly has been hurt by conservative talk radio? If anyone should be complaining about talk radio's influence, it surely can't be the newly crowned liberal government.

Maybe the return of the Fairness Doctrine would give rise to a new Reagan. If so, Bring It On!

		<description>From an anonymous poster:
Well the Messiah is telling everyone up front that its his way or the highway. Get ready America, you just elected someone who will model himself after Chavez - meaning national "security" force to bully those who disagree with him, nationalization of major industries, replacement of the military high command with Omaba lackies, total abandonment of Israel and on and on. Oh, and major benefits to illegal aliens, including citizenship, say good bye to talk radio and suppression of those who disagree with the Messiah. Well, Hitler was elected too - and if you think that's overblown, start looking at the facts behind this guy, not the nonsense and pablum the media's been feeding you. As for what do do - learn Spanish, stockpile food, buy gold and hope for the best.
