Updates On Reese, The Globies, DePetro
by Brian Maloney, November 20th, 2008 at 10:33pm
One nice thing about below-freezing temperatures in New England is that it sure does kill off those nasty bugs. But some Rhody radio fans are fed up with what they see as a lingering pest: WPRO’s John DePetro.

Here, Jessica Heslam has an update on their drive to remove the former WRKO host. In addition, you can visit their site here.
One thought: why not simply wait until Citadel goes bankrupt and cans everybody?
Also:
— After former WRKO talker Reese Hopkins pled not guilty to child rape charges, the AP made sure its top priority, smearing conservatives, was fulfilled:
Ex-radio host pleads not guilty to NYC child rape
NEW YORK (AP) ‚Äî A former conservative radio host who dubbed himself the “Crossover Negro” has pleaded not guilty in New York City to charges he raped his stepdaughter’s former friend when she was 11 or 12 years old.
Reese Hopkins pleaded not guilty Wednesday at his arraignment on an indictment charging him with first-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child. Hopkins is being held on $300,000 bail.
The charges say Hopkins sexually assaulted the girl between Sept. 1, 2004, and Oct. 31, 2004, at his Upper East Side Manhattan apartment, within weeks of her 11th or 12th birthday.
Luckily for us, the AP is cutting 10% of its staff, so we can now expect 10% less bias from the left-wing news agency, right?
The Herald’s far more reasonable coverage is found here.
— While their paper’s overall value has fallen below the price of a number two special at Dunkin’ Donuts, how do The Globies remain so arrogant? Just asking.

Meanwhile, prog talk is apparently returning to Boston…as brokered time. Yes, they have to pay for it! WWZN 1510, which does some sports and dollar-a-holler religion like Brother Stair,
is having local lib hosts 6-9 am and 6-9 pm
starting Dec 1, with a national show following in January. But again, this effort is most likely
“PAY to get on”. No word as to whether
they will get Diane Wilkerson as a host.
Tune in to hear them praise Patrick and
Obama! And why we should have a gas tax
AND higher tolls! (See Boston Radio Watch)

The arrogance of the Globe may be short-lived: The AP plans to cut 10% of its workforce in 2009. “The media’s CHICKENNNNSSSS…are COMIN’ HOME…to ROOST!”

So he’s now “Reese Hopkins” again?

By the way some are wondering if a “right wing benefactor” is paying for the WWZN airtime to ensure that a Fairness Doctrine doesn’t come back (”see, there IS liberal talk on…”). Actually I’m wondering if maybe a left wing benefactor is paying for it. Who knows, maybe a multi-multi-millionaire Senator whose wife is a ketchup heiress? (Yeah, but who knows?)
For the record, Howie, Jay, McPhee, Rea, etc.
do…not have to pay for airtime!

This is a legitimate question: doesn’t Fox pay in part for Bill O’Reilly’s radio show, at least in some major markets? (I know Billo will be “retiring” from radio.)

I heard “Star” was trolling the court house halls looking for a TV camera.

Hey Massgopguy,
I don’t know who this Star character is but did you say you heard, you mean you weren’t there to support your friend? What type of coward are you?

Mr. Massgopguy,
I’m not looking for an argument with you but Starr actually said in a blog he posted yesterday that he came to the courthouse on Wednesday with a bank check for ten thousand dollars to help Reese out but because Reese’s wife Cladeea didn’t want to speak to him he decided to leave the whole situation alone. He also put a copy of the check on line to show his support. Maybe you should start trying to help Reese instead of spreading worthless gossip.

Who are these whiners from Rhode Island??
I’ll bet they’re lefties! Organizing to squash free speech and crying because The Independent Man pulled a fast one. So what?? I’m surprised they aren’t marching in the streets like the Prop 8 gangs in Cali. Maybe these anti-DePetro whiners should hire the state officials in Ohio who violated Joe The Plumber’s civil rights (where’s the ACLU on that issue, by the way??) LEAVE DEPETRO ALONE and go back to watching your favorite show, The View!

Hey Amber, that was from a phone call I got from Claudia at the Court House. YOU and Mike Z. have no idea what I am doing to help Reese and his family.
