Personally, I can’t wait for the next eight years. Despite Bambi peeing on my front lawn, it will be greener. The milk in my fridge will last eight weeks, my car will get 35 MPG, my dog will come when I call him, that spare tire will disappear and the songbirds next to Bambi will be singing the Hallelujah Chorus. Obama will surely do for America what Deval did for Massachusetts. Hot damn, our troubles are over!

Just a quick clarification of what we’re doing locally — we are temporarily adding a handful of inauguration-related programs to our library of 10,000+ On Demand choices, not creating an “Obama Channel.” We often provide customers with On Demand programming related to current events. Other examples of this have been On Demand coverage of Red Sox and Celtics championship victory parades.

Unfortunately, it’s the inverse. All companies see this as a money making opportunity. From their echo chamber, they feel everyone is ready to bow at the altar of “O”. Everyone is trying to cash in. Even Topps is selling “Obama Cards”. Including a reproduction of a 1978 style Topps basketball card featuring a Barry photo in high school in his basketball uniform.
