Resisting The Body-Snatchers Obamists Indoctrinate Children, Jimmy Cliff’s Prophecy

Confusing Leadership With Fantasy

by Brian Maloney, January 18th, 2009 at 01:43am

For anyone wondering
why WTKK was crazy enough to renew on-air trainwreck Eagan & Braude for an additional five years via a “lucrative” deal, Margery Eagan’s latest Boston Herald column only increases the Bafflement Factor.

Taking the Obamagasm
into new territory, Eagan reveals her inability to make the distinction between real leadership and fantasy.

Even in an environment where Obamist deification has reached absurd levels, Margery’s comparison between the left’s Messiah and heroic pilot Chesley Sullenberger III stands out for its brazen nature:

Heroism, grace in a pilot and a president

America luxuriated Friday in the nerves-of-steel performance of US Airways pilot Chesley B. Sullenberger III because it was reassuring to finally see a high-stakes performer not just do the job, but dazzle us.

Incompetence is too much with us of late.

America is either prudently optimistic or downright giddy over Barack Obama for the same reason we swooned for Chesley.
Barack may be fooling us, though he did look jubilant riding to Washington yesterday on a train caboose bedecked in red, white and blue. He radiated youth and vigor. He always radiates competence, calm, grace under pressure, preternatural self-confidence.

Where does that come from? His father abandoned him. For months at a time, his mother did too.

Who knows where he gets it.

I just know we could use some.

Though Eagan does
leave herself a tiny bit of breathing room in case this comes back to haunt her later (likelihood of that occurring: 99.9%), there’s no reasonable way to compare Cap’n Sully with The ‘O’verdose.

Sullenberger has actually accomplished something of substance: in circumstances where many could reasonably be expected to die, he used skill and experience to guide a large aircraft in for what could only be called a perfect landing.

By contrast, Barack Obama has accomplished almost nothing beyond winning an election. While that is certainly a bona fide feat, until he is road tested, we have no idea whether this still unknown quantity is a real leader or absolute disaster.

While many people have Sullenberger to thank for saving their lives, to this point at least, Obama’s “leadership” exists only as fantasy for his hysterical, cult-like followers.

The comparison is accurate– he will crash and the main stream media will be right along his side to throw him a life jacket and give him a free ride.

Marge is a ferry boat captain, I do not listen to her show since I realized wasn’t listening to the actress who played Jan in the Brady Bunch remakes.

Shes another suck up that loves having a public Obamagasm.

Yawn. Margery really looks her age (60 or so) in that photo. No wonder the only “Os” she gets these days are the ones she rubs out herself while looking at pictures of my man BarryO. But I am starting to feel bad for Margery now… it is clear that she suffers from clinical depression. Margery, call me and I will give you the name of my therapist.

  • 3. Jim  |  January 18th, 2009 at 8:58 am

Agree on Margery. That show is very weak. Its an equally sad commentary that WRKO may have been looking to replace the awful Finneran show with THAT. I’d say there’s a real void on quality Talk in Boston.
Anyone know what kind of bucks those 2 are getting in their new deal?

  • 4. ChrisNH  |  January 18th, 2009 at 9:19 am

Ewwww…she’s a train-wreck alright. I can’t fathom anyone who looks like that and has so much visceral hatred having ANY ’significant other.’ She much live in an apartment full of cats or something. That’s how these things usually play themselves out.

  • 5. Larry  |  January 18th, 2009 at 9:22 am

TKK realizes that political junkies will listen to Rush during the same time slot. TKK thinks that Marge and Jim can provide an alternative with off-beat news like the topless coffee shop in Maine. This allows Jim to quip and Margie can giggle for thirty seconds. TKK brought in its rising star, David Andelman, to talk about his apparent addiction to strip clubs. It was real weird listening to them… If you haven’t realized it already, this stuff is the future of local talk radio while it lasts.

  • 6. Jim  |  January 18th, 2009 at 9:58 am

BTW, she DOES have a significant other (or at least I know she DID). He shares a microphone each day and disagrees with her political views.

  • 7. WRKO Staffer  |  January 18th, 2009 at 10:10 am

Celtic - That photo of Margery dates from around 2004 or so. If you want to see what she looks like now, just type in Eagan and Braude on youtube. There is one clip of them both trying to be funny regarding that Jim Braude court case. I honestly thought that whole thing was what was finally going to bring the show down for good. It seemed like the most pathetic and desperate p.r. stunt. Perhaps the saddest part was that they thought people were interested and that it was somehow pure comedy. Anyway, if you go on that clip you’ll see what Margery looks like now. Let’s put it this way, no wonder she is pissed at Palin. My guess on why the show was renewed is that they have browned nosed public officials by having them on the air and lobbing softballs at them (Ask the Gov. and Ask the AG). I honestly felt that the show was coming to an end because it has been spinning its wheels for at least 2 years now. Oh well, it is going to be a brutal 5 years. Margery pretending to be sexed up is like the Mae West films from the 1970’s when the aging star still tried to come off as a sex symbol. Your being a sex symbol is over Margery…did you hear that? Over!!

a sorry-looking woman whose whole career is wrapped up in industries that are wallowing. Even the cats in her apartment must hate her, and that’s a tough thing to accomplish when she’s the only one who can open the cans of cat food.

  • 9. Al Bowlly  |  January 18th, 2009 at 11:30 am

Blogs do attract socially maladjusted hypocrites and this one is no exception.

Eagan’s columns and radio performance should provide enough grist for you to tear her to shreds but why insist on criticizing her personal appearance? This was done to Governor Palin and countless other women over the years. Why continue this kind of loathesome sexism? I don’t even need to mention what some of the posters here must look like. Ye Gods.

  • 10. WRKO Staffer  |  January 18th, 2009 at 12:00 pm

I think Margery has brought some of it on herself by getting catty regarding Palin. I could care less about Palin myself (ok, she is a hot MILF) but I think a lot of people realized Margery was obessed with Palin’s looks. Also, people are just sick of Margery because her act is old and tired. I think a lot of the listeners lashing out are actually the same folks who were early fans of the show. Back then it seemed kind of fun. Now, Eagan is beyond annoying. I listened last week and she repeated the word “buttocks” like a twelve year old. Jim would be talking and Margery would just start saying “buttocks” over him. It was the dumbest radio I have heard this side of Joe and Huggy. Well, it looks like their Ask the Gov. segments paid off though because the brown nosing public officials made Greater Media feel as though Eagan and Braude could deliver some quid pro quo from the governor’s office.

Margery Eagan looks as wrinkly, old, and worn out as ever.

  • 12. WRKO Staffer  |  January 18th, 2009 at 1:46 pm

I’ll bet Margery will have another hour of her lame show devoted to the evils of blogging. She can dish it out but she can’t seem to take the heat very well. BTW, word in the local media circles is that she is obsessed with blogs about her. She is always talking about them and she reads them all the time. I wonder if she’ll post here.

  • 13. Joe from Brighton  |  January 18th, 2009 at 2:09 pm

Phyllis Diller always removes posts she doesn’t like about her from the Herald website.

  • 14. Mega Therion  |  January 18th, 2009 at 2:24 pm

Margery, the rosacea faced slattern from Hades is beneath worthless. May her and the other old seahag Claprood both wither away in obscurity.

  • 15. Broadcast Please  |  January 18th, 2009 at 4:36 pm

How did the pilot save the day … by checking the gauges for technicalities in their figures until they got a safe set of gauges ???

  • 16. agingcynic  |  January 18th, 2009 at 4:59 pm

@RKO staffer: I often disagree with you but you are spot on re Marge’s devolution. (There’s a promo possibility for you!) Between the bickering of two self-absorbed Baby Boomers and the mocking of people for perceived intellectual deficiencies, (separated by Gumpesque “buttocks” and malapropisms galore), “there’s no there there” anymore. You can disagree with Michael Graham’s politics but the dude is FUNNY. Braude seems like an a-hole but Margery is merely tragic. Thank God for the “scan” function on my car radio…

  • 17. agingcynic  |  January 18th, 2009 at 6:08 pm

Just hit me: How great is it that a talk host/felon who gerrymandered black political districts makes his “triumphant” return from vacation on Martin Luther King Day? (Or is it Obama’s Inauguration Day? Even better/more ironic…) Let’s see him talk his way out of THIS one….

  • 18. Jim  |  January 18th, 2009 at 8:05 pm

Braude is a self righteous, old school, arrogant liberal.

Eagan is a plant by Liberals to make Conservartives look dumb AND ugly.

  • 19. Celtic Frost  |  January 18th, 2009 at 8:50 pm

How can we miss you, Margery, if you just won’t go away?

  • 20. Lassiter  |  January 18th, 2009 at 8:54 pm

That’s really amusing. Disney would be proud of her adventures in Fantasyland. I’m actually enjoying these non-logicians stretch into these non-sequiters and non-causals…many of them are just as funny as this one.

  • 21. Bob Porrazzo  |  January 19th, 2009 at 7:13 am

For that token lefty Eagan to compare DA ARAB ONE to Sully the hero pilot–the ultimate Apples and Oranges!

  • 22. Celtic Frost  |  January 19th, 2009 at 9:34 am

The Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy is more alive than I previously thought — you folks really have BDS (Barry Derangement Syndrome).

Barrack is not even Muslim nor is he Arab (not that there’s anything wrong with that, as Seinfeld famously said). Islam is, after all, the religion of peace.

  • 23. Mr. Pragmatic  |  January 19th, 2009 at 9:40 am

Nice party yesterday, huh? Hey Joe, too bad INS couldn’t get a REALLY big net to catch all those illegals in one place. I think perhaps they could buy one from ACME for next time.

  • 24. ChrisNH  |  January 19th, 2009 at 9:53 am

All the focus on the number of Porta Potties tomorrow is, interestingly, quite apropos, we should all agree.

  • 25. Mega Therion  |  January 19th, 2009 at 10:18 am

If “Dirty Bombs” really exist…tomorrow would be a fine time for it’s use.

  • 26. Celtic Frost  |  January 19th, 2009 at 1:55 pm

God, listen to Margery and Jim (and Graham, earlier) chirp about how drunk Margery was on Saturday night and how good she looked and how so many cruise attendees were emailing about how hot Margery looked.

She is so insecure that she apparently needs constant reassurance that she looks as hot as she did when she was Head Cheerleader at Brockton High School. So unbecoming, Margie (and so untrue). It has the feel of Shannon O’Brien offering to show her tattoo to Tim Russert in that 2002 Gubernatorial debate.

  • 27. john b  |  January 19th, 2009 at 2:25 pm

Maybe youth and vigor isn’t the be-all end-all that some people think. When I’m looking for someone to do a job right, I go with the experience and work ethic of the older generations. It’s a practice that has served me well.

  • 28. WRKO Staffer  |  January 19th, 2009 at 2:28 pm

I wonder if Margery tried to take some boytoy home (Madonna style) after that cruise? What a lush.

  • 29. ChrisNH  |  January 19th, 2009 at 2:55 pm

No ‘boytoy’ would EVER admit going home with that shrew. File under, ‘I’d rather die first.’

  • 30. WRKO Staffer  |  January 19th, 2009 at 3:07 pm

If a sober Margery is completely annoying, can you imagine what a drunken Margery is like? Also, she said today on the air she was an American Studies major in college. Funny, she knows nothing about American history. I guess she was just a big pothead during her college years.

  • 31. Jimmy the Lynx  |  January 19th, 2009 at 3:21 pm

    Mega Therion = Celtic Frost

    That is all.

  • 32. brendan  |  January 19th, 2009 at 4:15 pm

Mike Lupica has a similarly nauseating column in today’s NYDN.

  • 33. Mega Therion  |  January 19th, 2009 at 4:17 pm

    Jimmy the Lynx.

    FINALLY! You’re half right…it’s a long story,but at least you’re awake.

  • 34. Tased and Confused  |  January 19th, 2009 at 4:21 pm

    So Obama = Sully, eh?

Good analogy. Either way, the plane’s going in the water and ain’t about to fly soon.

  • 35. Mike  |  January 19th, 2009 at 4:48 pm

“America is over Barack Obama for the same reason we swooned for Chesley.”

What planet is she on, anyway? I am in no way optomistic about the next 4 years. Do I want a disasterous Presidency foisted on us? No. Does that mean I’m “either prudently optimistic or downright giddy”? I know a lot of people who aren’t looking forward to the new administration, socialism, a foreign policy consisting of groveling, and lower Manhattan turned into a crater. But I guess that makes me “either prudently optimistic or downright giddy”.

Can we at least have him take office before crowning him king?

  • 36. susan mcbride  |  January 19th, 2009 at 4:49 pm

    poor Margery…

    she is old now.

    leave her alone.

    LOL

  • 37. Mike  |  January 19th, 2009 at 4:49 pm

Wow. Bad paste. I meant to quote “America is either prudently optimistic or downright giddy.”

  • 38. Celtic Frost  |  January 19th, 2009 at 5:18 pm

Attention: I am not now nor have I ever been Mega Therion. He is way more ballsy than I could ever be. That is all.

Interesting to note that JSYK has been scarce every since Staffer handed him that beat-down. Nice job, Staffer. You consistently have shown yourself to be the baddest ass (sparring-wise) in this blog…

  • 39. agingcynic  |  January 19th, 2009 at 5:18 pm

RKO staffer: Margery has done for Stanford University what Albert DeSalvo did for door to door salesmen…

  • 40. Mega Therion  |  January 19th, 2009 at 6:32 pm

The hijacker known as “CF” is right about ONE thing…he has never been Mega Therion. I’ll leave it at that.

  • 41. WRKO Staffer  |  January 19th, 2009 at 7:09 pm

Celtic - I will happily slap down JSKY again if he dares comes at me in attack mode. Regarding Margery, I really thought her gig was up at WTKK. I can’t see her being on the air there much more than two more years though. She’s horrible. Almost Joe and Huggy bad.

  • 42. Celtic Frost  |  January 20th, 2009 at 7:23 am

Staffer, does Grace (or Braude, perhaps, or Jimmy Severino) have a crush on Margie, thereby rendering her “untouchable”? How else would one account for her continued employment on radio?

  • 43. gingers_jake  |  January 20th, 2009 at 7:03 pm

    Obamagasm is awkward.
    How about Obasm?
