Powerful Conservative Women Bring Out The Worst In Margery
by Brian Maloney, November 16th, 2009 at 03:10pm
While she defiantly backs lackluster Democratic opportunist Martha Coakley for the open US Senate seat, WTKK’s Margery Eagan used her Herald column yesterday to point fingers elsewhere, seemingly unaware of how America perceives Bay State moonbats.
What is it about powerful conservative women that has Margery in cat-fighting mode?
From the piece:
A little nutty or totally wacked?
Totally wacked, for my money.
But this is the question some Republicans still ponder about the two most “hated” women in the country, as Fox superstar Sean Hannity lovingly calls them.
The first: probable GOP presidential contender Sarah Palin, whose 13-week “Going Rogue” tour starts tomorrow on Oprah.
The second: rising-star Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, relegated to wacko world last year after numerous bizarre moments (some detailed below). Last week she came roaring back as her anti-Obamacare rallies drew thousands to Washington, and they practically ignored GOP big shots John “tan-a-rama” Boehner and Eric Cantor to chant, enthralled, “We want Michele!”
Here, she squeezes one last drop of Outrage (!!!) out of the footage editing mistake made by Hannity’s producer (without mentioning outright dishonesty by his MSNBC competitors):
A quickly rehabilitated Bachmann now averages a major TV appearance every nine days. Conservative superstars Newt Gingrich, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and all of the Fox News network, in fact, pushed her anti-Obamacare rallies.
Hannity did apologize after Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart caught him using pictures of Bachmann’s rally that in fact were pictures of last September’s much bigger “Tea Party” rallies. And Bachmann apologized for ralliers carrying Holocaust skeletal body posters. Then there are her own freaked-out constituents. “When your captain is crazy it’s time to jump ship,” declared Dennis Coleman of Oak Park Heights in a letter to his local paper. Bachmann’s Tea Party set, he went on, is “not in touch with the mother ship.”
As long as Margery truly believes do-nothing Martha Coakley should be handed a US Senate seat for doing absolutely nothing, her credibility regarding other women in politics will remain low.

I laugh a Maggie’s columns much more than I get angered by them. Why? She’s a withered, well-past-her-prime media hack. And how do people like this hang onto their jobs in an industry that is shedding them? They do it by writing pieces that ‘draw the hits’ on the Internet. Clicks. This is why she’s doing this: she needs to show her superiors that her writing is ‘popular.’ From all accounts (because I refuse to listen to her on radio), Maggie is an extremely bitter, angry woman. The best way to send her to the Land of Misfit Media Hacks is not to respond to her Herald columns. The more ‘comments’ she gets, the better she (supposedly) looks to the higher-ups at The Herald. This is not even an opinion; it’s fact.

Brian: With the exception of Palin, Bachmann is the only conservative female Eagan has written about.
Eagan, like many, many of us think Palin is light years away from anyone we’d want as a VP- let alone a President.
But there is another side to Margery that is catty and jealous of better looking women. Although she complains about how unfairly women are judged on their looks as they age, she always seems to get in her own comments on the looks of a woman she’s discussing.
Remember WTKK’s old slogan- “We’ve got issues”. I think Magpis has a few of her own.

So there ARE some people who read Eagan’s high school newspaper-quality “column?”

Hannity is a “Fox superstar?” I’d rather hear Billy Cunningham dub someone a “Great American” than Hannity. Micahel Weiner-Savage’s “Sandwich Nation” should be on TV.
Speaking of “do-nothing Martha Coakley,” the most constructive thing she could do is put her eyeglasses back on. Martha Coakley’s looks are about as improved by not wearing glasses as Wilfred Brimley’s are by not wearing glasses.
They’re just left with empty, crazy-looking eyes.

If Coakley is an opportunist what does that make your buddy Scott Brown. R- Cosmo Magazine?
Brown looked pretty foolish on Ch 5 yesterday when the Law and Order Attorney couldn’t name the new US Attorney for Massachusetts. He also couldn’t name the leader of Palestine who is stepping down.
Brown really didn’t have a good answer as to why a 30 year National Guard veteran has never once left the country.
He is getting easy treament this time around becasue he isn’t expected to come close in January but he will be chopped up whe he runs for AG in November.

I believe “Chris” is correct. It’s not journalism, it’s a contest for the most inquiries, akin to maximizing ratings, regardless of the lack of integrity in doing so.

Eagan believes Obama was born in the USA?

Scott Brown indeed is a chore to listen to, but I still prefer the content of what he speaks and his sentiments (lower taxes/smaller govt) compared to the Dems running.

Anti Brain: You’ve had time to research it and I’ll bet you don’t know who the hell the outgoing Palestinian leader is. Who does, Martha? Not likely. But I’ll bet Senator Brown knows that Chirac is no longer the President of France. By the way, guard members, like other military personnel, don’t decide for themselves where they will be assigned. It’s the military, not the Peace Corps. Hey - is Martha still refusing to answer press questions while acting as attorney general? (Acting being the operative word here).

I still want to see Tookie Amirault show up at a Coakley rally holding a poster size photo of his late mother. Talk about your collateral damage…

Maggie even wrote a second consecutive column today on her ‘Topic du Jour:’ Palin. She’ll no doubt get over 100 comments, the sheer number of which she’ll use to ‘impress’ her bosses. This is because her ‘page’ is festooned with ‘click ads.’ Never mind that comments will run 99-1 against Maggie’s position; that’s not where it’s at in the esteemed world of ‘print’ journalism. Not in today’s Internet age. As for me, I’ll skewer Maggie from afar. Mine won’t be one of those 100+ comments on the Herald web site. Mine is right here, where I know media hacks like Maggie come to see what’s being written about them. You see, one other Truth about media hacks is that they can’t stay away from any news about themselves. Kind of like being fascinated by your own car crash.

I had a good laugh a few weeks ago when the Herald said they were thinking about charging for the on-line version. Who would be stupid enough to actually pay money (even with the falling value of the dollar) to read Margie’s and Howie’s tired, old columns?…Brian how about a post on which show is now worse…Jim/Margie or Howie/Sandy.
(Sorry about the double post on Kirk story)

My response to that can be summed up in one four-letter word: B-I-D-E-N.
14. Cap'n Spackle | November 17th, 2009 at 12:31 pm
Whattaya mean? She’s got a strong background in international affairs:
1.) Her sister lives overseas.
2.) Tina Fey can see the Middle East from Martha’s sister’s house.
Those are the kind of strong credentials we need for a Senator if there’s no Kennedy available.
15. piratetoby | November 17th, 2009 at 2:24 pm
Cap: B I D E N is 5, not 4 letters. Did you go to school w/Palin?
16. Cap'n Spackle | November 17th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Pirate, that was a specific reference to a well-known statement by someone supposedly qualified to be VP seeing as how he currently holds the job. You know, the guy with the hair plugs whose idea of a sensible response to 9/11 was a 200 million dollar protection payment to the ayatollahs? Maybe they forgot to mention that in your circles ’cause they were too busy quoting Tina Fey.
Try to keep up. Thanks.

Rather than being concerned about Brown not being able to name the new US Attorney for MA or the leader of (The) Palestine/inian (Authority?) who is “stepping down,” or why he “really didn’t have a good answer as to why a 30 year National Guard veteran has never once left the country,” I’m more concerned about Brown’s opponents’ behaviors such as Capuano’s voting for:
1) The (TARP) Bailout 2) The “Stimulus” Sham 3) HR 3962 (the so-called “Affordable Health Care for America Act”) and Capuano’s voting against defunding ACORN
When did Capuano, despite his fighting for the underdog shtick, ever do anything to reduce taxes and the other ill effects of big government for the “middle class?” He appears to be more concerned about providing the illegal immigrants in his district amnesty.

No Pirate, he went to school iwth Biden, remember it was Biden who spelled that 3 letter word, J-O-B-S!!!!!!!!!!
19. piratetoby | November 19th, 2009 at 12:00 am
Yeah, OK Cap’n and medic. I had a feeling when I corrected Cap’n that I was making a mistake. I knew that was too easy, and the ole Cap’n is smarter than that.
Do me a favor. Let’s just keep my faux pax to ourselves, ok? I’m already treading on shakey ground with my comrades for voicing any disappointments I have towards Obama. I dread being shunned and humiliated. So keep my secret and in turn I’ll prominse to “keep up”. Thanks.

Take it easy P, I’m just messing with you.

Same here pirate, sometimes you are just too easy!

“WOW! Maggie must be an awesome columnist for the Herald. Over 340 comments for her column today alone! I sure hope that when it comes time to lay off writers and columnists at the Herald, they keep Maggie. She sure is worth keeping!”
Unfortunately, that’s the mindset of your typical newspaper hack. They think it’s all about the clicks & comments & page views. Unfortunately, the ’suits’ are stupid enough to think that way, too. By the way, my rant at Maggie is here, not among the 340+ on ‘her’ site. I’d never give her the satisfaction. besides, I know she comes here anyway like any voyeur would.
25. ChrisNH | November 21st, 2009 at 12:31 pm
Can someone please take up a collection to get Maggie some chest augmentation? Right now, my eyes go to the face, and, um, that’s not where I’d like them to go. Ughhh.
