Air America Became Irrelevant Long Ago
by Brian Maloney, January 21st, 2010 at 09:44pm
Catching up:
— The Air America Radio network shutdown actually isn’t the big story it would have been a few years ago: the biggest libtalkers work for other networks.
— Entercom happens, that’s not news either, is it?
— I was wondering how Margery was going to handle this
— The left’s most pressing task: turn Scott Brown into Sarah Palin. Wouldn’t that have been more effective BEFORE election day?
— David Rodham Gergen is a WINNER in the Senate election battle? His boneheaded “Kennedy seat” loaded question gave birth to Scott’s brilliant reply: “it’s the people’s seat.” Only a Globie could come up with crap like this.
— HuffPo morons think they have a scoop in “digging up” Gail Huff’s 1984 music video. That one’s old news in the Bay State, the Herald wrote about it in October.

In a 2005 interview with the Globe’s Mark Jurkowitz, Jon Sinton of Air America predicted “in five years we’ll be on 600 stations” (just like Rush).
He later admitted he was a bit off
song parody, Coming to America by Neil Diamond
Everywhere around the world
They laugh at Air America
Listened to Franken and I hurled
he was on Air America
Where the libs are so angry
They were on Air America
now they’re facing bankruptcy
too bad for Air America
(actually liquidation)

The problem with Air America, and any other Liberal/Progressive is they provide no genuine solution to a problem provided by these people.
It’s endless complaining but no solution. It wears thin after a while.
The “Beagles” (eagan and braude) really aren’t any better but the format is light and bouncy enough to survive. No amount of money in the world could convince me to spend 24 hours straight in the same room with Margery, though. Two enter, one leave.

Raccoon, Sounds like you have been into the “Cracklin’ Rosie”.
If you are parsing out negative statements and do not mention some of the more good God awful
conservative outlets I question objectivity. Oh! I
get it-there is none. ok guys, pounce!

I saw Gergen the night after the debate on CNN talking with Wolfie. He hardly sounded like an non-partisan moderator. Don’t forget he works at the Kennedy School at Harvard.( Cambridge voted overwhelmingly for Marsha) The question from Gergen that betrayed his bias was his question to Brown asking him about reports that Brown was a global warming skeptic. His tone was so arrogantly aloof and implied that anyone who shares that skepticism is an idiot.

As for Gergen, what else would you expect from Camelot High? It doesn’t look right but I checked the spelling of Camelot.

The reason that conservative talk radio works is that it’s an alternative to ABCCBSNBCCNNNYTNPRetc. The reason liberal talk radio doesn’t work is that it’s redundant.

Brian: “The left’s most pressing task: turn Scott Brown into Sarah Palin.”
Are you kidding me, Brian? The left’s most pressing task is examining how this state lost a long held Democratic seat and how to keep it from happening again.
Sarah f—ing Palin? What a stupid comment and even though it wasn’t YOUR original thought, it was stupid of you to even reference it.
Man, I’m reading some really dumb stuff here lately. Just off the cuff rants, with no basis in fact. Drives me nuts.
PS: Gail was HOT in that video. I remember the band’s name, but don’t remember that song (or any others, for that matter), and that’s got to be shot on a local beach….wonder which one?

It’s not that hard, really.
1 - Teddy Kennedy got the legislature to change the rules pertaining to how a Senate vacancy gets filled when it looked as though his fellow Senator was going to be Reporting For Duty at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. But… this never came to pass </sad trombone%gt;.
2 - Kennedy or his handlers decided to hang onto the “Kennedy seat” after he was no longer able to do the job for health reasons.
3 - The “Kennedy seat” became available not long after Teddy’s sandwich buddy and his stupid counterpart in the House wrecked the economy. “I want to continue to woww da dice on affowdabwe howsing”.
4 - When Brown started running ads that said he’d be the 41st vote against Obamacare and that it wasn’t the “Kennedy seat”, it was the “people’s seat”, the other side started running ads with the Widow Kennedy saying that Brown would be the 41st vote against Obamacare and that it wasn’t the “Kennedy seat”; it was the “people’s seat”. I’m sure at this point Brown was wondering why he was bothering to buy ads when the other side was doing it for him.

Who on earth did Maggie Eagan think that Brown’s win had anything to do with anger at ‘Beacon Hill?’ Brown was running for U.S. Senator, not some hack role in Massachusetts. I guess Maggie needed to try (in a ‘failed’ way) to deflect attention from the real reason Brown won: People have HAD it with Obama and his henchmen in the Senate and House.

Both sides whine, both sides have no idea what to do, really. Whoever’s in tries to undo what the party before them did; back and forth and back and forth. Nobody’s ever happy. And talk show hosts use this to rile people up even more.

Off topic, but noticed the lovely and talented Magpie here in the house.
Maggie-baby, double up on those speech classes. After listening to Alex Beam on your show, his rapport w/the Big Boy AND his voice AND the fact that WTKK could use a “Globie”, let’s just say you really must practice your eloquotion and diction now more than ever.

Cap’n Spackle: “I want to continue to woww da dice on affowdabwe howsing” or is it more like “I want to continue to woal da dice on afforda-boe howsing?”
“Deer WILL be death pannows!”
