Mystery From The Cutting Room Floor?

What might have made this line too hot for the Boston Herald's coverage of Dennis & Callahan? Have a look:

``It's one thing to be a pig,'' a source close to the negotiations sniffed, ``however, hogs tend to get slaughtered.

This alleged cutting room floor slice-up has created quite a mystery here at SaveWRKO. I'm not quite 100% sure I understand the point being made.

Why was it potentially removed from this story? Why does someone believe this particular line is so important for SaveWRKO readers to see?

Because the paper isn't talking, there's no way to verify if it ever appeared in the piece, but the mystery endures nonetheless.

Hogs my Butt!

The old financial cliche is that "Bulls and bears make money but pigs get slaughtered". The premise is that taking a reward out of proportion to your risk is not viable on a long term basis. How this would be relevant to Howie escapes me. He is an employee, albeit a highly-paid one. Lincoln freed the slaves. If Howie wants to leave, good luck to him. If he later screws up and wishes he had stayed at 'EEI, ditto. If Howie was in fact offered a $50k pay cut, what makes him greedy, ("a hog"), to turn it down? Do they think this is his hobby? The suits at 'EEI can't possibly think the listeners are THAT stupid, can they?

Someone's definitely being piggy, but it's not the talent...it's Entercom management!

Here's a question -- has the absence of Neumeir had any impact on WEEI's mid-day ratings?

It seems to me that with sports radio it is the format that attracts the audience, so long as the hosts are plausible.

You can't be serious that Neumeir is coming back to WEEI. He is an utter caricature. His demeanor. His look. His voice.

No. A thousand times, NO. We don't need a Boston sports media hack (defined as someone who just bounces around from gig to gig) at the helm (or the co-helm) of a WEEI show.
