Expose The Hypocrisy

Finneran Laughing At Taser Victim

*** UPDATE: I've developed this further at the Radio Equalizer ***

Our friend Tommy Tune Out, struggling to filibuster through yet another slow segment during WRKO's morning show, resorted to laughing at taser victim Andrew Meyer, who was nailed during an otherwise boring John Kerry college lecture in Florida yesterday.

Finneran also defended the University Of Florida's handling of the incident and repeatedly maintained Senator Kerry was not at all responsible for what happened.

Had it taken place in front of a Republican speaker, no doubt Finne-felon would be screaming about the man's civil rights.

Finneran repeatedly played an audio clip of the incident, laughing each time as the young protestor begs not to be tasered. Later, a caller joined in to laugh with him.

All of this took place in the first segment of the 9am hour.

Hey Tune Out: how about a taser or two for you?

BY THE WAY: I'm not defending this angry protestor and his behavior. There are conflicting opinions on whether firing the taser seemed appropriate.

But laughing while the guy begs not to be fired upon isn't funny in the slightest. Tasers are killing people in great numbers and frequently misused.

Worse, depending on the school, campus police are sometimes little more than mall security guards with a slight promotion. Should they be entrusted with taser guns?

As Michelle Malkin notes here, our border patrol agents are banned from using them against illegal aliens in federal detention facilities.

UPDATE: Also on WRKO, Todd Feinburg is also laughing at the taser victim, along with his guests.

UPDATE: Add Howie to the list of hosts in for a long round of tasering.

There are many things to be said about Tommy to Tuff but they would only serve to perpetuate this angry violent thread that seems to be running thru his physce. This guy is one angry classless and I might add, poor excuse for an Irishman. He and his morning mess are to be avoided at all costs.

People are living by the 'avoid at all costs' mantra, as Finneran's ratings no doubt show. I refuse to tune into WRKO at all now, and I'm sure I'm in very good company. As for the rodeo clown student who decided to give a 'filibuster' a try, he'll be ostracized even more now than he ever was before. He just seems to have 'angry shut-in' written all over him.

Can't nail Tommy on this one. Most talk hosts are laughing when this clip is played and most of the listeners (including me) think it is quite funny to listen to this liberal nancyboy truther "squal like a peeeeig" while getting his just deserts.

Posted by: Jim Rose at September 18, 2007 11:05 AM

Jim, which hosts have you heard doing this?

Posted by: Brian Maloney at September 18, 2007 11:16 AM

The Sainted Carr chortles when he plays (often several times) the recording of the woman in Florida, I believe, who got zapped for disobeying officers. Your dislike of Finneran has given you tunnel vision and you are grasping at straws. I don't listen to either of them and am not looking forward to the same old crap when the world's least introspective moron comes to the FM side

Theres a line. Necessary tazering is funny. I'm all for some redneck wearing a wifebeater just done making a crack deal getting 50,000 volts. Unnecessary tazering like this, which borders on abuse, isn't.

The convicted felon, perjoror, hack, bigot and all around scumbag hasn't got the sense god gave a gnat when it comes to making good decisions like this. Of course, his blatant hypocrisy on EVERY issue is what makes "Finneran's Bore'em" so terrible. This morning he was stumping for O.J. to get out on bail. Probably to keep scouring the golf courses & Hawiian Tropic contests for the real killer. Carr can't get to AMs fast enough.

Gentlemen All, Why do you find any humor in this saga of the student and Sen. Kerry not stepping in? These Tasers are not for paint baller types to get a chuckle. His oral skills were a threat to WHO? Some days are fun blogging and then there is this.

Posted by: Kate at September 18, 2007 11:47 AM

Agreed. reaching for straws. I am sure scores of hosts are laughing at the college weenie. He wasn't killed by the way BUT when Howie carr can find an interesting story about some unfortunate souls DEATH He laughs and laughs and laughs and laughs at it. I always find it hard to swallow when he tries to give his sympathies for a death a bit closer to home. YUK YUK YUK!

Posted by: Annabel at September 18, 2007 12:02 PM

Nolisten Nomore: you are spot on. Brian has no credibility with me -- way too predictable in his disdain for Finneran. Brian: you must either be working on your Casino Gambling post right now or you are avoiding it becasue you might actually AGREE with the governor on this one?? Perish the thought.

Kate:

Kerry was going to step in, then he wasn't going to step in, then he was going to form a commission to explore if he should step in. He was for stepping in then against it..... is that a flip flop? He needed to wait to see the outcome before coming down on both sides of it.

I think Tazers should be used more, not less.

This kid was trying to be a younger, thinner Cindy Sheehan-type.

Good for them for tazering the little puke. If he had shut his mouth and left quietly, he would not have been lit up.

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha.

Posted by: Tazer away my boys at September 18, 2007 12:20 PM

Rush Limbaugh's point is that as a former college activist himself, why did Kerry seem so unaffected by what was going on in front of him?

Perhaps Kerry should be the topic. That's probably why Finne-felon took pains to defend him today.

Posted by: Brian Maloney at September 18, 2007 12:21 PM

Annabel, Are there any weapons used when Howie is doing his death bit?? I did not think so!!!Bish, my original post states that Kerry is the focus of my issue. It must be terrible to be so pretetious as Sen. Kerry. The student, as a participant had a ques. that the Sen. was probably embarrassed to answer. This kid in this county did not deserve to tasered.

Posted by: Kate at September 18, 2007 12:59 PM

The kid wasn't trying to make a political statement. According to WBZ's story at http://wbztv.com/local/local_story_261064234.html, he was an Internet prankster who'd been known for filming himself pulling stunts like holding a sign that said "HARRY DIES" outside a bookstore when the Harry Potter book came out.

Yeah, real funny stuff there. Look where it gets you.

Still no radio insider type has answered:
What can WRKO / Entercom do to make Capin' Graff stay?
What was done that prevented D & C from leaving?

I'm almost willing to bet that it was no accident that the new 96.9 web page was "leaked".

Posted by: ~~~bjd~~~ at September 18, 2007 01:19 PM

Cops are to blame for taser abuse. The trend is to use them for compliance, not because an officer is in danger. They can and have killed people with health issues. They even lit one man on fire. They should therefore be COMPLETELY BANNED and not used for INTIMIDATION and TORTURE. The police have NOT policed themselves and are abusing civilians and violating their depts use of force policy. Of course, an investigation by their peers will result in no finding.

Welcome to Amerika Comrade. Gracias Senor Bush and the leftist facists too.

Posted by: LOL at September 18, 2007 01:33 PM

LOL, that's the kind of intelligent observation these hosts should be making, instead of playing a clip and laughing. Funny how they're getting paid for this shoddy work.

Posted by: Brian Maloney at September 18, 2007 01:39 PM

If what WBZ is reporting is true, what the hell is wrong with a political statement regardless of where it is made? Pranksters are now fodder for a damn good tasering? Is that what I am reading? The student hurt NOBODY. There was no riot that I saw. Not a soul, including a Senator, stepped in to hault this horror show.AMAZING!

Posted by: Kate at September 18, 2007 01:43 PM

Brian, Equalizer points are well rounded from all directions. It is truly the sign of someone not walking this planet to have waited a day to make a statement. As far as Boston talk is concerned, it lacks brains, perception of daily issues, and a playing to the lowest on the food chain to secure their fan base. Sadly, they are getting paid.

Posted by: Kate at September 18, 2007 01:55 PM

I'm not a water carrier for the felon but I don't see the fault here. As others have well stated it, Howie plays his tazer tape often and the Ted laugh at the most inappropriate times. Methinks this is more about Kerry but frankly the kid was looking for this to happen to make his point.

Posted by: Lisa at September 18, 2007 02:47 PM

Where is that "Celtic Frost" arse-wipe who used to libel Howie Carr in here?

Losah.

Posted by: Whither Celtic Frost at September 18, 2007 02:51 PM

Kate, what it boils down to is that this guy may be a jerk and a heckler, but laughing at his screams of pain is still pathetic.

Posted by: Brian Maloney at September 18, 2007 03:16 PM

"Kate, what it boils down to is that this guy may be a jerk and a heckler, but laughing at his screams of pain is still pathetic."

Then put Howie on the pathetic train as he's laughing like he11 right now. All I'm saying is the Felon isn't alone on this so express your outrage equally and not just at Finneran.

Posted by: Lisa at September 18, 2007 03:35 PM

Lisa, I didn't think Howie would stoop to Finne-felon's level, but he did. Please see the latest post.

Who cares if Meyer's a heckler or jackass, that's not a reason to taser somebody.

Posted by: Brian Maloney at September 18, 2007 03:42 PM

Lisa, Typical muddy the waters approach. We care that this is going on in the first place. It's wrong to punish and torture people for free speech. It's real scary that you so willingly support the goon squad. Your complacency and idiocy will doom us all.

Posted by: LOL at September 18, 2007 04:48 PM

Lisa, I did not hear Howie today and maybe that is a good thing. My outrage has been directed to a lot of people on this blog as well as Sen. Kerry. Tommy Too Tuff should be doing flower arranging for his paramour in Walpole. Any of the hosts on RKO as of now need to be thankful for their civil rights and they have not been tasered for some of their outrages statements. They are statements that have been directed to all political sides.

Posted by: Kate at September 18, 2007 07:10 PM

Brian, I do know what it boils down to. There is a disconnect someplace and I'll be damned if I can figure it out. But I do have one question--when did cruelty become fashionable? This kid has learned a hard lesson as most of us have lately and it is a lesson that never should be part of the curriculum for these United States.

Posted by: Kate at September 18, 2007 07:17 PM

Brian,

I must disagree with you on this one. A moonbat getting tasered made my afternoon. As Howie played the clip I couldn't help but laugh to myself.

Maybe living in Brighton I just naturally hate college pukes.

"Lisa, Typical muddy the waters approach. We care that this is going on in the first place. It's wrong to punish and torture people for free speech. It's real scary that you so willingly support the goon squad. Your complacency and idiocy will doom us all."

I never commented on the incident only on Brian's blog about its coverage by Finneran. The original point of Brian's blog entry seemed to be taking Finneran to task for laughing. I was simply pointing out that the criticism levied at Finneran needed to be equally dispersed to Howie and others as their shows took the same approach. I was neither praising nor zinging Finneran or Howie for making this a laughing matter. Please read what I wrote again if you have a moment as I never offered an opinion on the matter of tasing at all.

Brian went on to tar all of the hosts with the same brush which I applaud.

"Brian went on to tar all of the hosts with the same brush which I applaud."

On that, we can agree.

I did read your post. A common tactic is to start talking about something or someone else and change the object of the debate. It's sad, but true. We need to focus on the ignorant, left and right, who advocate the carte blanche tazering of citizens.

I spoke to soon condeming you and for that you have my apologies.

Joe, Did you laugh to yourself because you were ashamed to LOL ? What is with your hatred of all things College?? I can e-mail you the ph # of Father and Son moving Co. if you need a change of location. Interesting word that "Pukes". I am wondering what its origins are?

Getting "tasered" is no picnic, but it is still far better than getting maced, billy-clubbed, beaten or even shot. A quick shot or two with a taser or stun gun can be warranted, using the devices for prolonged torture or forced confession cannot (except perhaps on Osama).

Moonbat Meyer looked and sounded perfectly OK the next morning. Maybe he should now hit the books, and attend his classes (that mummie and daddie are shelling out for him) and otherwise just plain shut his big loud and annoying pie hole...

Posted by: Ed the Radio Man at September 19, 2007 01:43 PM

Ed, if I'm not mistaken i think that part of the populice called Patrick Henry annoying but I don't recall anyone mentioning "pie hole".

Posted by: Kate at September 19, 2007 02:33 PM

Hi Kate,

I've lived in Brighton my entire life, long before the college pukes, and long after they graduate from their four-year vacations to live off their mommy and daddy's money. So don't tell me to move sweetheart.

Perhaps "pukes" came from Boston College students in rare form on the streets of Brighton at 2am leaving their marks as they stagger home.

Posted by: Joe from Brighton at September 19, 2007 10:03 PM

Brian, I can't stand Finne-felon either, but you're way off base on this one. You describe this kid as a taser VICTIM? Sorry, but if you watch the tape, you can see that he resisted arrest right til the very end. Even when he was on the ground, he was still resisting. As a law enforcement officer, I can tell you that those Fla. officers were absolutely justified in using the taser. The real victims are the two officers who have been suspended - hung from the gallows of political correctness.

Hi Joe, My apologies. After reading your most recent post I think I will be calling the mover cuz it sure sounds like the Garden Spot of America to me! Vacations, Money, Parties! All this without a passport, sweetheart!
