Scott Allen Miller, the former morning show host on WRKO who was slighted for Tom Finneran, has announced on his blog, the Scotto Bloggo, that he has accepted a job offer to be the Program Director and morning show host on AM 590 WROW in Albany, NY.
This is just a tremendous opportunity for me. I am already very familiar with the market having worked at WROW's main competitor before coming to WRKO in September 2003.

Albany listeners really "get" talk radio. They always have politics on their minds, they just elected an incompetent governor, and a carpetbagger is using their state to run for President. Now that I think of it, Albany is a lot like Boston.
Another reason why this is such a great opportunity is as program director I will be able to help shape the direction of the station as a whole. Talk stations that have a program director who is also a host have become increasingly rare finds. Program directors don't tend have as much independence to program stations as they used to, either. At WROW, I will be part of a team, of course, but will play a lead role in setting the course of the entire station.
And:
If all goes according to plan, I will be on the air in Albany on Monday morning around 6. (Yes, WROW does stream online.)
Congratulations to Scotto on the new job! Best of luck to you.
