Protests Planned For Imus Return

According to today's Herald, activists are planning to protest the Imus relaunch, targeting WTKK's Morrissey Blvd studios, which puts them in view of the Globies:

With Don Imus set to return to the airwaves Monday, some of Boston’s black leaders are planning to protest outside WTKK-FM (96.9) beginning today and say they’ll closely monitor the shock jock’s show.

“Boston already has its own challenges around race relations, and we don’t need to have an additional flare-up with him bringing that kind of spewed hate and racism and sexism to the fray,” said Darnell Williams, president and CEO of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts.

Williams plans to attend today’s 10:30 a.m. protest outside WTKK’s Morrissey Boulevard studios. The protest is being organized by local activist Sadiki Kambon, who said he intends to meet with WTKK management at 11 a.m.

While this won't stop the I-Man's Boston debut, it could stop already nervous advertisers dead in their tracks.

We do not support Don Imus returning to talk radio. Not now. Not ever.

Posted by: Sadiki Trombone at November 30, 2007 07:14 AM

I rarely listened to Imus so I'm not one off his supporters, but he got screwed.

When the Urban League starts policing their own constituents language and actions, then I'll listen to their opinion.

As far as Sadiki goes, the guy is a joke. He frequently calls talk radio about the most ridiculous things. He makes all sort of accusations without offering any kind of proof to back them up. And I've never heard him answer a question put to him. He always starts by saying "Well, let me just say this...". Then he goes on completely ignoring the question. WTF is that all about?

Sadiki Kambon, huh? A bigger race baiter cannot be found in these parts. Sadiki Kambon? The same Sadiki Kambon that gave the Globe the "Anerican soldiers raping Iraqi women" photo (oops, it was a still from a porno movie)?
Sadiki Kambon needs to get himself a job and get on with the rest of his life, and that goes for every other one of the pathetic losers who show up at the "protest".

Apart from that, I don't really have any strong feelings either way.

This is why Jimmy Severino II works from home. So I don't have to deal with protesters.

See, I am the B&B.

I may only be 5'8" tall and 150 lbs. soaking wet, but I am a ladies' man nonetheless.

I wish it would stop Imus' return. His act is old and tired and just not interesting anymore. Abe Simpson on radio.

Its a shame that Graham needs to move. I have always felt that the strenght , which is now dissapated, in Boston Talk radio was its propensity for local talk, and like him or not, Graham was good at it. Finnerams just a yawnfest and there's not much more unless you get to D&C doing headlines. Imus may bring ratings back to TKK ( and I personally think the jury's going to be out on that) but leave a hole in what many are looking for.

Is it just me or do statements like these exacerbate race relations issues?

One of the activists (Sadiki Kambon) is a
professional race pimp ala Al Sharpton
Along with Chuck Turner, he once held
a press conference that included
photo's showing American GI's
sexually abusing Iraqui women.

It was picked up and carried as news
by the Boston Globe. Only problem?
The photos were fake:

Yeah, I'll be joining Sadiki--when he
explains that one publicly.

This would be the Sadiki Kambon who alleged that our troops in Iraq were "raping" Iraqi women.

The racist, moonbat left knows no shame. They and Imus deserve each other. Where are all your liberal friends now Slimus?

"Sadiki" and his fellow felons are available to protest in the middle of a work day. There's a shock. Hopefully Jimmy Myers will self-immolate in protest...HA! Gotta love it.

today, traveling in my "former" state of Taxachusetts, I came upon this sign in front of a real estate office....
"Ho Ho Ho" Santa will visit this office on Saturday"! LOL
I almost drove off the road, from laughing!
I cannot wait to hear some lib Moonbat spew off about that! And in this town, it has its share of Moonbats, I am surprised its still standing! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Sadiki seems to be a long-time talk radio "standard" around these parts. I have heard him call in to just aout every local show that I've heard around here, over the years.

The Philadelphia area has their own "Sadiki" goes by the name of "Sheckey (sp?) Bruce". Maybe not as issues-oriented and can be more entertaining.

With allthe other problemsand issues of and in the "inner city", it sems to me that having Imus back on the air ranks way down in the order of proprities.

If Sadiki Kambon decides to start a boycott campaign of the advertisers once Imus starts talking, then I promise to patronize and support those same advertisers.
Sadiki would do better by the community he want to serve by working full time stopping all the pathetic macho black on black gang bangin' violence in his hood.
His self serving cracker/honky hating angry black man act is a ludicrous caricature. But it remind the guilty white liberal baby boomers of the '60's they loved so much and can't seem to get beyond.

I'd love to find out Sadiki's REAL name. The one that he had prior to his Cedar Junction stint. That's where most Nation Of Islam and like minded Afrocentrics "find" religion. Anybody who gets Mau-Mau'd by these zilches is a gutless fool.

You are all just modern-day slave-masters trying to keep we black folks down. White folks == 'da man, keeping people of color down as you have been since the dawn of this country.

This country was built on the backs of slaves, and we will not rest until we get reparations!!!

Posted by: Sadiki Trombone at December 1, 2007 10:20 AM

You are all confused! They are protesting because TKK didn't get Howie, it has nothing to with this Don guy.

Everybody chant:

No Howie, No Peace, No Howie, No Peace...

Howie to the peeeooople...

Posted by: BostonVernon at December 1, 2007 12:29 PM

First off, I rarely listen to Imus, HOWEVER, imo, the guy got rooked. Secondly, SAD-iki is just that, a sad, sad, angry racist. He has been caught lying in the past about our soldiers, he only calls radio stations if the topic is black related or Iraq related,,,he is a blatant racist, him, al and jesse fell out of the same mold. The man is useless and likes to stir up trouble.....WHY is TKK letting him in the building to meet with management at 11? We should be protesting his arrival at TKK. It's about time someone stood up to these idiots.........awhile back there was a Sunday talkshow host on RKO who refused to let this clown on his show, it was shortly after this idiot produced FAKE photos of our soldiers raping women....the man is dispicable.

Posted by: Barbara at December 1, 2007 05:34 PM

Well. I dunno. You have generations who fought for equality and freedom. Then you don't recognize the importance of free speech, even when it is something you may not like to hear.

Seems counterproductive. Hypocritical.

Should be:
I'll fight to defend your right to call me @$#!@#!, so that I am free to call you @$#!@#!.

Why is that so hard to get?

Since when did unemployed welfare hacks get the right to politely re-name themselves 'Activists?' Is this sort of like '40 is the new 30,' or 'Black is the new Silver?'

Posted by: Chris at December 2, 2007 09:42 AM

Sadiki Kambon has a job. He is the Director of the Roxbury Information Center at Roxbury Community College and also works part time as a professional talk show caller.

Posted by: The Real Not an RKO Employee at December 2, 2007 02:20 PM

BINGO! You nailed it "the real not an RKO employee" SAD icki IS a professional talk show caller.........

Posted by: Barbara at December 2, 2007 03:01 PM

And how many of the professional protesters showed up at the protest? How about 7!!!

Sadiki is a joke.

Posted by: Scott at December 3, 2007 07:53 AM

Let me ask you this -- do you folks keep your hoods and sheets in your bedroom closet or in the attic?

You white folk WILL pay reparations to we people of color, for we built this country for zero pay.

It's only a matter of time, and the interest is accumulating.

Posted by: Sadiki Trombone at December 3, 2007 08:23 AM

I thought "we white folk" were paying reparations. its called WELFARE!
didn't you get this months check already?
LOL
