I got it from Mike Hsu on WAAF. Of all places, that was the one show that cared enough locally to give some info and an informed opinion on the mess that Pakistan is heading for.

I liked the Hunter interview on Howie's show, even if it was a fill in host. Nelson let Hunter talk and they did touch on the happenings in the world.

What little I did listen to Hopkins was a train wreck. I can't listen to dolts for any extended length of time. I did catch the bit from a caller that was calling Hopkins on "phoning it in" and not being local. I won't even go to RKO in the AM anymore.

If the goal of the changes was to destroy talk radio in Boston, they did a very good job of it. Given who they hired, I don't know for what other goal they were shooting. I'm guessing they realized a need to keep Rush and Carr, just to be able to make payroll. What happens if Rush or Howie leave?

I'm not sure the new management at RKO would be all over the story if she did have a 98 m/h fastball. They seem to have the agenda of destroying the station and letting things pass. Having the sox is nothing more than a distraction so local hosts don't look too closely at what's going on in MA. Besides it helps them, like Rush and Howie, make payroll. RKO is not broadcasting to inform, it's broadcasting to spin and distract.

There was a line on "BOSTON LEGAL" a few weeks ago. It is very appropriate regarding WRKO and its lack luster programming.

The apathy of Massachusetts has finally done in it's last bastion of hope for the sane people of the state, talk radio. This website, this thread, is a perfect example. WRKO is not in business to distract, they are in business to provide topics based entertainment. I find it kind of sad that some people think they can actually get their news from WRKO. It's an news entertainment station. No one should ever look to WRKO to provide informed insight into something like this Bhutto assassination.

I will 'not' be posting again before 1/4, and then only should something impassion me.

You are in fact 100 % correct in that rko offers nothing to inform. I guess you won't be needing that "Information Station" promo then.

As far as the entertainment part of the business: How's that going for you? I look at Entercom's stock and it reaches new lows daily. I TRIED to listen to half wits like felon in the morning and this crossover clown and am far from entertained. I see the ratings and rko is in a death spin, plummeting towards last place. Who may I ask is entertained? It's entertaining to come here and read some of the thoughtful posts former listeners leave, and the actions / reasons the moles and employees try to explain away. (Yourself included.)

So I'm figuring that I'll be hearing the new rko promo "Boston's Entertainment Station" during Rush or Howie's show in the near future, right?

If the goal of rko's entertainment was this blog, then you've done a great job, keep up the good work. If however your goal was: to increase revenue for the stockholders, employ thoughtful, intelligent hosts that discuss things that matter to the Boston area and at the same time provide a media outlet that reflects the opinions and views of the area, you may want to consider putting your resume in order. I have a feeling you'll be needing to consider a careerer change.
