Expose The Hypocrisy

One Annoying Trend

I'm all for defending one's on-air staffers when under fire, but covering for dishonesty or violent public outbursts is too much.

First we had Reese's bogus bio, which was first met with shoulder-shrugging by WRKO's management and then rewarded with a week-long stint filling in for Howie Carr.

Now, Sunbeam- WHDH-7 / WSVN-7 bigwig Ed Ansin has weighed in from Miami regarding the fate of drunken airport maniac Randi Goldklank:

“The unfortunate events of last Sunday night were unanticipated and Ms. Goldklank is deeply regretful,” President Ed Ansin said in a statement. “She is currently undergoing medical treatment and is on administrative leave from the company. We wish her a speedy recovery, as do her many friends in Boston and throughout the broadcasting industry.”

Ansin called Goldklank “an outstanding broadcast executive with a record of great success.”

Goldklank, 40, was arrested Sunday night and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer after an incident aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Philadelphia. She will be arraigned May 19 in East Boston District Court.

Aren't you tired of seeing the dishonest and / or outrageously irresponsible actions of others downplayed by their defenders and enablers?

Taken to the extreme, this is the kind of sentiment that results in 9-11 being labeled a "tragedy", as though the buildings were hit a tornado or hurricane.

Brian, do you have conclusive proof that Reese's bio is fake? I don't like his show either, but I think you're jumping to conclusions.

I thought only weathermen used the word 'unanticipated' to describe a forecast they screwed up.

I forgot to mention in my last post that I also miss John Dipetro (now on 630 wpro) and o-zone.
