Expose The Hypocrisy

Bill Delahunt: Terrorist Supporter, Bay State Embarassment

After his asinine, pro- al-Qaeda comment on Capitol Hill, Rep Bill Delahunt (D-Venezuela) has once again embarrassed the South Shore, Cape, Islands and the whole of Massachusetts.

That didn't go unnoticed by talk radio hosts, who've correctly been pounding away at Delahunt all day. From Rush Limbaugh to Howie Carr, the former Norfolk DA hasn't received this much attention since his previous pro- Hugo Chavez meltdowns.

From Limbaugh's Friday program:

RUSH: There was an event on Capitol Hill yesterday, just give you an idea. Do you know how many hearings, by the way, the Congress, House and Senate combined have had on oil and energy this year? Do you know how many hearings there have been with the Big Oil execs and without, just exploratory hearings? They've had 40 hearings on oil and energy, and has anything happened? Yes, the price has continued to go up. Do you know how many hearings they have had on whether or not the United States tortures detainees? They've had over 60 in the House and Senate combined, over 60 House and Senate hearing, and there was another one yesterday. It was the Constitution civil rights and civil liberties subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee. Massachusetts representative Bill Delahunt was questioning David Addington. David Addington is chief of staff, former counsel to Vice President Cheney. Addington, a very private guy, does not show up in public. He was forced to show up at this hearing. They asked him the typical stupid questions, and he just stuck it to these guys by not bending over forwards and grabbing the ankles like Republicans usually do or anybody else does when they face a congressional committee. This did not sit well with Bill Delahunt, who said this.

DELAHUNT: Oh, I can understand why he [the President] doesn't talk about it.

ADDINGTON: But you gotta communicate with Al-Qaeda. If you do -- I can't talk to you. Al-Qaeda may watch C-SPAN.

DELAHUNT: Right. Well, I'm -- I'm sure they are watching, and I'm glad they finally have a chance to -- to see you, Mr. Addington, give --

ADDINGTON: I'm sure you're pleased.

RUSH: You need me to translate this for you? Delahunt said, "Oh, I can understand why the president doesn't talk about it." Addington, "you gotta communicate with Al-Qaeda. If you do, I can't talk to you, Al-Qaeda may watch C-SPAN." I can't tell you what we're doing about Al-Qaeda. Not here. Delahunt says, "Yeah, well, I'm sure Al-Qaeda is watching, and I'm glad they finally have a chance to see you, Mr. Addington." A number of people have inferred from this that Delahunt would not be disappointed if Al-Qaeda took Addington out now that they know who he is. Delahunt has said, "I didn't say 'they.' I didn't say finally they had a chance to see you, I said finally I've had a chance to see you." Okay, let's see if that's what he said. Let's listen to this again, now.

What amazes me about this is that Delahunt represents one of the Bay State's most conservative districts. Yes, there are a few moonbat towns down here, but it's not a place where conservative sentiments must be kept hidden (like Cambridge, P-Town, Berkeley, Seattle, etc).

I've said it 100 times, so let me make it 101: Massachusetts is the state that the other 49 laugh at.

Mark Levin had Delahunt on his show at its end Friday. Delahunt appologized to Addington (he claimed) and Delahunt says there is no hard feelings between him and Addington.

Regardless, what has been said can not be unsaid. It shows an extreme lack of class for Delahunt to make the statement he did.

The moonbats that re-elect these liberal social do gooders will continue to do so forever. Kennedy, Kerry, Delahunt, and the rest have no fear of ever being challenged for their elected positions. This state is a laughing stock for the rest of the country. Look what we have for a governor. He has a 55% disapproval rating but you never hear it talked about on any news programs. And you can bet that if BHO wins the Whitehouse, Coupe Deval will be on the next plane headed to Washington looking for a job.

As long as Massachusetts citizens CONTINUE to vote in these bloody hacks we will continue to be a State of cluelessness. This moron Delahunt hid from THE GREAT ONE (Mark Levine) like most spineless Liberals. WE NEED TO VOTE THIS HACK OUT! He's a disgrace (don't forget his Hugo Chavez backing) just like that Reprehensible FAGAN!

These Liberals really make me sick! They can NEVER live up to their lofty goal of being a peace and loving sort of person(s)...which makes them sickening HYPOCRITES! At least Conservatives are open and honest about what they are and are not capable of!

Dr. Laura Schlessinger ROCKS THE HOUSE! She ought to visit every home in America to get this country back on track. I love her opinions!

Oh Brian, Delahunt must be shaking in his boots. Everyone from Rush Winddag to Howie has taken him to task. This may mean that Delahunt will win re-election by 69.5% instead of 70%. It may not really matter because, since the Congressman was one of the next Presidents earliest supporters, he may accept a high level position in the next administration, possibly as Attorney General.

Since your political insight is about as good as your overall lack of understanding of how the broadcasting industry works, your statement that you are amazed that Delahunt represents what you consider a conservative district doesn't surprise me. This is basically the same district that sent Gerry Studs to Congress 5 times.

Please tell me are not a Massachusetts native, just one of those new comers who moved here and wants to change the Bay State into another one of those retrograde backwater states?

Off topic Brian....
Friday Evening I'm listening to Mike Adams' Plant Mikey show on 103.7 and at about 7:20, in the middle of a sentence Mike is interrupted and the station switches over to the Sox broadcast. Couldn't there be a somewhat smoother transition from one broadcast to another? I seem to recall this happening during Howie's show as well. I think Howie mentions earlier in his show that it will happen but the switch itself is all of a sudden so that if you don't know what's about to happen it's a little unprofessional sounding. Is there a standard in the business for that sort of thing? How about telling the listeners that they can continue to hear Mikey on 850AM or something?

bigbluenow (or should I say Really Right?), I see you have yourself another new handle now. Whew. It's hard to keep up with you, Sybil!

Just be yourself, dude, and people will come to love and accept you, warts and all. I found that people in this blog (mostly) harbor no ill will towards me for being a short, bald, stocky Jewish man who happens to also be gay and married to a former het (with 3 kids). I sometime volunteer at local youth events, too - especially for those from broken families in the inner city. See - warts and all, wordman!
