Expose The Hypocrisy

From A Reader

Hello:

I didn't know if other people missed Moe Lauzier but WPRO 630 AM has Moe covering for Dan Yorke 2pm-6pm on July 2 and July 11, in addition to the week of July 14-18.

I found this information on Moe's website.

I heard him yesterday and it put a smile on my face to hear that familiar voice.

I guess Rhode Island stations get it. First Todd on WHJJ and Moe on WPRO.

I have been listening to the Rhode Island stations and given up on WRKO.

All the best,

Janet

Thanks for the update, Brian. Even though I live in NH, I can listen to PRO via the internet. Every day, I tune in to RKO less and less. No reason to listen anymore.

On Moe's web site he refers to the great Gene Burns. He's still doing his thing at KGO in San Francisco where he's on daily 7-10 pm PT or 10-1am ET. Even though Gene leans liberal/libertarian, it's a pleasure to hear his voice. It's quite a time-warp back to the good-ol'-days of excellence on RKO. Gene still does his dining around show on Saturday. Lots of California wine being consumed.
Perhaps the children who program RKO these days should dust off the archive tapes and see how it's done.

To Vita Roos...
The children and mindless money grubbers who program RKO these days don't care about the archive tapes because it's impossible for them to recognize, much less acknowledge, TALENT.

WPRO sounds like the RKO of just a few years ago. News department's intact, keeping the talk hosts and listeners up to date on the issues. John DePetro sounds better than he ever did on RKO (because Jason Wolfe beat the spirit out of him),and the promos and imaging are adult and on target with the format...unlike WRKO's juvenile liners and promos.

If my business wasn't on the north shore, I'd be placing orders with WPRO. Judging by the amount of quality advertisers they have, business must be great! NO COMPARISON to WRKO.
Programming and management are at the core of the success of WPRO, and the failure of WRKO.

I so happy Moe Nauzia continues to be the King of vacation relief and holiday employement when the much more talented hosts take time off.

I hope he won't be telling those tired old stories about Ed King and Former State Senator Parker on the Rhode Island airwaves. Maybe he can wax nostalgic about Sen. Pell?

As for his references to Gene Burns, Moe was never shy about trying to feed off of the talents of William and Burns.

Maybe, I will tune in if I feel a need to find out about the Fall River Little League or what it was like to sell machine parts in Canada 30 years ago.

Vita, agreed that Gene-oh is the last of a dying breed: good, honest, refreshing talk show hosts! If we had more like him (and the estimable Pat Lucci), we would not be in this mess in Boston talk radio circles.

And, while I am not a big fan of Moe, I do like my portly brothers that is for sure. We "big" guys gotta stick together (unless it's humid out as that can get sloppy).

THIS IS GREAT NEWS FOR ALL AS AT LEAST HE TALKS ABOUT WHAT REGULAR PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR AND NOT THE OLD HC SAME OLD SAME OLD. NO MAX ROBBINS WITH MOE. NO JAY SEVERIN FLUFF ABOUT HIS ALLEGED LOVE LIFE. MOE HAS NEVER BEEN CONVICTED LIKE YOU KNOW WHO. WE ALL MISS HIS PROGRAM ON SATURDAY MORNING.

Moe had the daily mid-day slot on WHJJ in the early 1990s, so he's a familiar voice to many in the Providence market.

Anti Brian

Do you have anything nice to say about anybody or anything? It just seems like everything you post is nothing but a negative diatribe about one thing or another. While you are most certainly entitled to your opinion, you know what they say about opinions. They are like A$$HOLES and you sure sound like one..

Just a short note to let you all know we have received over 13,500 calls to my weekly show and we are holding record numbers. We have three call sites to handle the response to the show. You may think RKO is dead or whatever you may wish to think but I have a terrific audience. The arbitrons must be wrong or almost 50% of everyone who listens is calling into the show on Saturday mornings. I have met hundreds going on thousands of my listeners and they are the greatest people on the planet!

Keep up the good work here, I do enjoy reading these comments and wish you all the best.
