Why waste afternoon drive on weekend-style pet talk when the 6pm hour could be filled with these great local stories:
1) The shocking Gloucester High "pregnancy pact" where an entire group of very young girls conspired to get themselves knocked up. How did Time Magazine scoop the entire local media on this huge story?
2) Two men who participated in a DNA sample drive on the Cape want their data back, now that Christa Worthington's killer has been convicted (at least in theory).
He did the Gloucester story earlier.
He had the pet doctor on because he's doing a liveshot from Laconia tomorrow.
If I was listening to a 5000 watt station in Peoria, I wouldn't be surprised to hear a show on pets. But on 'RKO it is absurd. Does Howie do it just so he can get free vet care for his dogs?
Perhaps they still read Time up in Gloucester? (Are there lots of dentists' offices there?)
The way Time portrayed Gloucester in its piece, you'd think the North Shore town being discussed was Lynn.
I think people in the State House are rubbing their hands with glee over this story. The way for this welfare state of Massachusetts to avoid losing an electoral vote is to just encourage young girls to crank 'em out.
This underscores the point I made the other day on Howie's lazy use of his listeners to write his column. He's lazy and phoning in both his radio show and his column. Yeah, we get it, RKO and you are not getting along. A pro rises above that and delivers product. He isn't doing that.
Is it wrong that I think the one in the tight yellow top is hot?

I love that segment on the howie carr show. It is one of my two favorite segments on the show, and I think he only does it once a month... instead of once a week like he does with Max Robins from the wherever he is this week media related thingie.
As for the knocked up gloucester teens? giving them more attention than they deserve also gives other teen girls silly ideas just like that one. i could not care less. it is impossible for me to care less.
I'm in the minority, but I like the Dr. DeJong segment. I've liked him ever since he had the guts to run against Bulger.
BigBish, presumably the one who had to resort to boning Aqualung in order to get knocked up isn't "hot".
Christine and Rich like that segment because they also like gardening shows and money talk. Boring people need boring shows.
